Nod Power (NPL) are an Independent Power Producer (IPP) focused modular natural gas reciprocating engine projects which provide fast response, flexible generation to an increasingly dynamic UK grid, aiding the deployment of further renewable energy projects, reducing reliance on traditional fossil fueled power plants which cannot be ‘turned on and off’ depending on the weather.

NPL was founded by industry experts to implement its strategy to develop, construct, own and operate 200MW of capacity across the UK to help us all in these difficult times where a lot is up in the air, to at least gain electricity security.

NPL is developing a number of 11kV sites with a pipeline of 15MW to be commissioned in 2021, whilst delivering additional schemes to add to their portfolio with a target of owning and operating in excess of 200MW by 2025. NPL are now seeking partners to aid us in delivering our rapidly growing business.

Gas generation is required in response to an increasing need for diversified, fast response generators across the network, particularly when renewable generation has under performed based on weather forecasts. Our neighbors biggest concern tends to be regarding noise. All our engines are designed to be less than 65dB@10m, this is the equivalent to a passing car, and typically (unless a grid emergency) would not operate between 9-16.30 Monday to Friday. Our sites can be screened by visually attractive screening fence or planted hedging and trees where required
